Asin’s career is on a steep rise, but the golden heart Southern beauty does not let it go to her head. In a recent incident, she proved that behind that beautiful and elegant exterior, lies a noble heart, too.

Passing by in her car, the Bollywood star saw a kid about to come in the way of speeding cars. Unmindful of herself, she jumped and managed to shove the lucky little boy out of danger. However, in the process she fell and found her hands scraped and a little hurt. Having done her good-deed, she sped off.

Next morning Asin woke up with a swollen pair of hands and in acute pain. Unable to move her hands, she was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, Bandra, where the doctors diagnosed torn ligaments in both her hands.

“I woke up in the most acute pain. I couldn`t move either of my hands, not even to brush my teeth! They had gone numb. My biceps and triceps got affected and my hands had swollen to the sizes of balloons,” Asin said with a terrified laugh.

The stoic girl’s story continues. She said to a news website, “Luckily, I didn`t have to wear bandages, so I could attend the Fashion Week for Manish Malhotra and do my best to cover up the injury. To my surprise, no-one noticed.”

Designer Manish never got a hint of her discomfort.

Asked whether the kid’s parents got in touch with her, she dodged the question, saying, “Maybe they didn`t know who I was. But I didn`t do it to be thanked. I did what came naturally to me.

Talking about her image as a ‘difficult’ actress in Mumbai, Asin laughs, “Maybe I`m not doing something right. Maybe I should save some more kids on the road.”
