You must all be familiar with the iconic BR Films logo that plays at the beginning of the unforgettable films offered by the famous film production house. The brand belongs to the BR family who is one of the most prominent filmmakers in Bollywood. The old family home is currently making headlines – the BR House was recently sold for approximately Rs 183 crore, ETimes reported. The 25,000 square feet bungalow is spread over nearly an acre of land in Mumbai’s Juhu locality.
According to a report in the entertainment news portal, a popular property developer has acquired the property from Rhino Ravi Chopra, wife of Ravi Chopra and daughter-in-law of PR Chopra. The company reportedly paid a stamp duty of approximately Rs 11 crore to register the deal.
The real estate developer plans to develop a premium residential project on the plot of land through its own residential development entity.
For those unaware, B.R. Chopra has conducted most of his work there. He also breathed his last there in 2008. After a series of ups and downs and some co-productions that failed to take off, Chopra saw his production house slip into losses in its final days. Earlier in 2013, it was reported that his son was able to salvage the property from a number of creditors after paying it and clearing the bungalow of any encumbrances.
