BTS: J-Hope Says It’s ‘An Honour to Be First South Korean Artist to Headline Major US Festival’ Like Lollapalooza

Excitement among BTS ARMY is growing every day ahead of Lollapalooza 2022. On June 18, the annual four-day music festival in Chicago took to the Twitter handle and dropped a video featuring BTS member J-Hope.

The organizers shared the video with the caption, “A message from J-Hope, your latest title.”

In the video, J-Hope shared a message to BTS ARMY. “What’s up with the army! I can’t wait to see you all at Lollapalooza on July 31st. It is my honor to be the first South Korean artist to headline a major festival,” he said in the video.

He also stated that he is excited to see other famous artists at the festival. “I am so excited to see other artists like Dua Lipa, J Cole, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and more. I am working hard to put on a great show for all of you. So, get your ticket today at See you Chicago!” he added.

On June 8, event organizers announced the news, which got BTS ARMY excited. J-Hope is the first South Korean artist to star in a music festival. The official account of the posted event stated, “We are pleased to announce that BTS’s J-Hope will headline Lollapalooza on Sunday, July 31! His performance will make history, cementing him as the first South Korean artist to headline the main stage at a major American music festival.”

J-Hope will take the stage and wrap up the show with other big names such as this year’s headlines like Metallica, Dua Lipa, J Cole, Green Day and Lil Baby. In addition, TOMORROW X TOGETHER will also debut in the United States on the Lollapalooza Theater on July 30.

Lollapalooza is held annually in historic Grant Park between the Chicago skyline and the shores of Lake Michigan. The main music festival will run on July 28 through July 31.
