As per Etimes report, a court in Ranchi has ordered the screening of the film. IndiaToday.in has reported that Judge MC Jha will continue the arguments after the release of the film and decide whether or not the film is in violation of copyright law.

In May, after the trailer was released, a man named Vishal A. Singh is accused of plagiarizing to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions as well. Vishal, who is reported to be a screenwriter, claimed that his story was copied by KJo’s Dharma Productions as Jugjugg Jeeyo.

“I registered a story.. #BunnyRani with swaindiaorg in January 2020. I officially mailed DharmaMovies in February 2020 for a chance to co-produce with them. I even got a response from them. They took my story.. and made #JugJuggJeeyo. Unfair @karanjohar,” he wrote in a tweet thread. Dharma Productions has not yet processed the claims.

Meanwhile, the cast of Jugjugg Jeeyo is promoting the movie in full swing. Varun, Kiara, Anil and Nietu landed in Delhi on Sunday and were seen enjoying street treats and interacting with fans. The film also paved the way for the “Nach Punjaban” challenge where several stars shared videos in which they were recreating the song’s hook step.
