John Abraham was last seen in Attack when he impressed everyone with his action sequences. The movie was released in theaters but was later made available on the OTT platform as well. In a recent interview, John talked about how to stick to the big screen and mentioned why I love the OTT space as a producer but not as an actor.
“As a producer, I love the OTT space. I love making films for the medium and catering to that audience. But as an actor, I’m very clear that I want to be on the big screen,” he told ETimes.
John Abraham went on to say that he’s the big screen hero and wants to stay the same. He also stated that he would be offended if someone stopped watching his movie halfway home. “I’m the big screen hero and that’s where I want to be seen. At this point, I’m going to be making movies that cater to the big screen. I’d find it offensive if someone shuts down my movie halfway on a tablet because they needed to rush to the bathroom,” the actor added. I don’t want to be available for 299 rupees or 499. I have a problem with that.
John Abraham’s attack failed to dominate the box office. Shot by Lakshya Raj Anand, the movie earned around Rs 12 crore also as it was influenced by SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Later, John released a statement thanking the audience for their “acceptance of something new and different.” “Regardless of the appreciation we have received for this film, we thank you very much to the audience for accepting something new and different. ATTACK was an honest and humble experience on our part to give the industry something fresh and new.”
John Abraham will next appear in Ek Villain Returns alongside Tara Sutaria, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani. The film will be shown in theaters in July this year.
