‘Rashtra Kavach OM’ and ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ box office collection day 4: The Aditya Roy Kapur and R Madhavan starrers register low first weekend numbers – Times of India
As per a report on boxofficeIndia.com, ‘Rashtra Kavach OM’ collected Rs 1.50 crore net on the first Sunday bringing its total collection in the first weekend to nearly Rs 4.10 crore. ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ also made a net profit of Rs 1.90 crore on its first Sunday bringing its three-day total to nearly Rs 3.85 crore.
For Aditya star Roy Kapur, work did better on the singles screens of UP and Bihar. As far as R Madhavan’s direction is concerned, the film did not do much in the Tamil Nadu belt, despite it being originally a Tamil film. However, the opening of the film was better than the bigger Tamil films like Valimai, Beast and Vikram, but those were dubbed in Hindi.
“Rashtra Kavach OM” also stars Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Prakash Raj, Ashutosh Rana and Prachee Shah in pivotal roles while SRK appeared in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Aditya talked about how “Rashtra Kavach OM” is different from other national films. “I don’t watch a lot of movies so I won’t be able to talk about the context. But what struck me about Rashtra Kavash Om is my first novel. While all the major events and atmosphere are in place, the movie had a very emotional and intimate core. While patriotism is definitely One of the themes, except that it’s basically a movie about the family and what they’re going through,” he said.
